Personal and business papers of George Smith Patton, Sr., and his family including wife Ruth Wilson Patton, son General George S. Patton, and daughter Anne Wilson Patton. The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, receipts, tax documents, estate papers, maps, photographs, ephemera, etc. There is some General George S. Patton related material in the collection; most of which is in the Anne Wilson Patton series (finance documents). Box 42 contains correspondence by General George S. Patton (photocopies), his wife Beatrice, and their children. The collection also contains several photographs of General George S. Patton. There is some information amongst the real estate-related papers about racial restrictions in the San Gabriel Valley.

The Banning Family Collection of Photographs, Part I, consists of 996 black and white photographs, 82 glass plate negatives (5 x 7 inches and 5 x 8 inches), and 1 scrapbook, 1855-1979 (bulk 1880s-1910s), collected by the Banning family and depicting various family members and friends and family properties (residential and commercial), with an emphasis on Wilmington and Santa Catalina Island, California. Of special significance are the Catalina photographs documenting the development of the island from a natural enclave with a few inhabitants to a thriving tourist resort. The Charles Francis Saunders and Mira Culin Saunders Collection of Photographs and Negatives consists of 5826 black and white photographs, 68 glass plate negatives, 3832 film negatives, 10 photographs albums, 261 lantern slides, and related ephemera, ca. 1871-1965 (bulk 1910s-1920s), collected and created by Charles Francis Saunders, Elisabeth Hallowell Saunders, and Mira Culin Saunders. The collection provides a comprehensive overview of Charles Saunders' activities as a naturalist and travel writer.

This collection contains 209 photographs of families, residences, commercial and municipal buildings, and the natural environment of South Pasadena, the city and county of Los Angeles, and other locations chiefly in California, taken approximately 1887-1913, mostly by photographer T. D. Keith ([1848]-1896); one undated photograph is by Los Angeles photographer Elkanah P. Tresslar, and other images taken after Keith's death are by an unidentified photographer. Photographs chiefly show South Pasadena residents and residences, including Keith's home and family and other families; many of the photographs provide a glimpse of clothing and dress styles of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Photographs also depict South Pasadena buildings and scenes; various views of the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles; Santa Catalina Island; the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1901 in Pasadena; a few photographs showing scenes from San Diego County and the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906; and individual images of the San Juan Capistrano Mission and of a street scene in Tijuana, Mexico. The photographs are chiefly later prints from glass-plate negatives and, to a lesser extent, from copy film negatives.
