Compaigne and Buchanan are seated at a table in dining room, while a standing Mature speaks to Compaigne, and Stapler carries a silver tray. Landon is standing next to the fireplace speaking to a seated West. George Romney's Catherine (Halead) Burton (1789) hangs over the fireplace.
