At the corner there is a tract office for the Olympic Beverly Plaza. Across the street there are a few cafes and shops. There are rows of houses at the far side of the driving range. The houses in the foreground are somewhat widely spaced, but the houses on the hills on the left and in the center are more closely spaced. The areas between the houses have only low scrub growing. A panoramic view of the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles, from Beverly Boulevard. There are a few houses or apartments on the left, beyond which is a small lake. The UCLA campus is in the center of the image, with the Men's and Women's Gymnasiums at the bottom of the hill, in front of Royce Hall and College Library (now Powell Library). There are numerous automobiles parked in front of the gymnasiums. Westwood Village is visible on the far right. The road in the foreground is labeled "Beverly Blvd." in white, though there is no corresponding Beverly Boulevard in Westwood today. Writing in white in the bottom center reads "Made 1931 ; Pettit's Studio ; 1416 W. Pico L.A. ; RI. 8534".

Other businesses visible include a radio and home appliance store, a used car dealership, and another gas station. There are numerous automobiles both parked and driving on the streets. Stamps in the bottom left corner and on a blurred car in the intersection read "Pettit's Studio ; Commercial Photographers ; 1416 W. Pico Blvd. ; Richmond 8634 ; Los Angeles 15, Calif."
